Who’s this challenge for

This challenge is for everyone who want to learn Data Science no matter what their background is. Students, Professionals who want to refresh their knowledge, People who want to make carrier change and people who want to learn data science for the sake of learning. Anyone can take this challenge. This was the second round of the #66DaysOfData challenge for me. I have participated in the first challenge back in July 2020. It was very great learning experience. Hence I decided to participate again. There were 2 main goals in my mind while taking part in the challenge again.

  • Make learning a habit
  • To complete the ‘Machine Learning’ playlist from the youtube channel Statquest. You can check out the channel here: Machine Learning

The challenge started on July 1st 2021 and ended on September 5, 2021. This challenge is about making learning a habit. You can apply it to anything you want to learn. This particular challenge is for learning data science for 66 days. So that you can consistently learn and make progress with the help of the community.

My takeaways from this challenge

As I said earlier, the most important task of the challenge is to build the habit. While doing this challenge I understood that how difficult it is to keep up with it. Sometimes you don’t feel like doing anything. But, you saw other people posting their progress. And it motivates you to do it. That’s why it is only for 5 minutes a day. 5 minutes also count. For me, some days were so productive where I could focus on studying 1-2 hours. But, I managed to do it everyday at least for 5 min.

  • I completed watching machine learning playlist from Statquest channel.
  • I started participate in #TidyTuesday.

The best part of the challenge was the #66DaysOfData community. I met a lot of amazing people through this community. They encouraged me to make progress with learning. People sharing their progress was the best part. You also learned from experiences of others. You can watch my progress here:

The Highlight

The highlight of this challenge was the #SLICED competitive Data Science TV show hosted by Nick Wan and Megan Risdal. Contestants code in real time exploring, cleaning, and analyzing a never-seen dataset to win the most points for training a model with the best prediction accuracy and data visualization. I learnt a lot of new things from SLICED. It was fascinating watch the thought process of how contestants approach the problem. I learned about lot new tools and techniques. I learned a lot of things from taking part in this challenge. Met very amazing people. And I can’t wait to do it again in round 3. Happy Learning…!!!
